Do you believe in karma?
My immediate instinct is to say ‘No!’ and dismiss this as some fatey type nonsense.
But, if pause and delve a little deeper, I am definitely swaying towards ‘definitely maybe’. So why the change of mind?
For me, it’s the shift from viewing karma as some kind of ‘cosmic revenge’ where a mystical power apportions bad fortune upon those who have harmed others to seeing it through the more buddhist lens of a link between action and intention.
Here therefore we meet the philosophy that the outcome of an action is tied to the underlying intention behind it. More simply put, actions have consequences.
And that makes sense .. doesn’t it…??
